Background information for applicants

The school was founded 25 years ago in 1982 by Judit Váradi a teacher of English and History. Over the years the school has grown considerably, becoming an important player in the increasingly competitive ELT market of Hungary.

We offer tuition in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch and Hungarian as a second language at all levels. The school has also established contacts with foreign institutions, organisations and exam centres.

We also administer the internationally acknowledged and highly renowned Trinity College London and Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch exams, both of which are accredited international exams in Hungary.

First-rate service is guaranteed by the Quality language school title (Minősített nyelviskola,) which we were awarded for the fifth time in a row in 2004. The rigorous inspection is carried out every 3 years by a professional and independent committee focusing on every important aspect of the service a language school offers, ranging from the quality of teaching to the school atmosphere.

Our clients consist of companies mostly, so the majority of our courses are company-based these days. The distinguished list of our past and present partners includes Budapest Bank, The Communications Authority, OTP Bank, Budapest Gas Works, Philip Morris, AVIS, Accor Pannonia, SabMiller, E-ON, the Canadian Embassy, the Ministry of Economics and Traffic, Credit Suisse, Tesco, Mediaedge and many others (see References).

Needless to say, the school’s success has also been the result of the hard, reliable and professional work of our past and present colleagues, including teachers, supervisors, instructors, secretaries and assistants. Some names are perhaps worth mentioning: George Horlai (a living legend, author of the very first English course-book published in Hungary) Zsolt Király (head of the Centre for English Teacher Training at ELTE), Judit Fehér and Pálma Pohl (teacher trainers and authors of methodology books and course-books).
